Every woman deserves to feel seen.

See Me Now Project helps women navigating cancer treatment and survivorship reconnect with confidence, identity, and visibility through meaningful portrait experiences.

My Story

I am a solo mom to a wonderful daughter who was only six years old when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 44 in January 2025.

At the time, I was also in the middle of completing my doctoral dissertation. That year was supposed to be our year of travel and new experiences together. Instead, I found myself canceling plans, including her birthday trip to New York to visit the Ice Cream Museum, as life quickly became filled with appointments, treatment, and uncertainty.

I still remember exactly where I was when I received the pathology result that read: Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I was standing in Totem Lake Mall in Kirkland, and in that moment, everything changed.

I cried for days.

During treatment and survivorship, I experienced how isolating it can feel to move through the world in a body that no longer feels familiar. Hair loss, exhaustion, visible changes, and the pressure to appear unchanged can quietly impact confidence and identity in ways many people never see.

At the same time, I continued showing up visibly and authentically throughout treatment and survivorship. That experience deepened my belief that visibility matters and that women should never feel pressured to hide during treatment or survivorship.

Photography became more than an image. It became a way to reconnect with confidence, dignity, strength, and humanity.

See Me Now Project was created to help other women experience that same reminder: that they are still worthy of being seen.

Our Mission

See Me Now Project empowers women facing cancer by providing pro bono professional portrait experiences that honor identity, restore confidence, and affirm dignity throughout treatment and survivorship.

We believe that being seen fully and authentically is a meaningful part of healing, hope, and self-worth. Whether bald, scarred, bloated, exhausted, or radiant, every woman deserves a portrait that reminds her:

I am still me.
